Blockade Billy is not only a baseball thriller. It is a story about pressure systems. Clubhouse pressure. Crowd pressure. Career pressure. And the pressure to keep a winning story alive even when facts do not fit.
After finishing this retelling series, I think In the Tall Grass succeeds for one main reason: it keeps horror simple at the surface and unsettling underneath.
After reading the full collection, what stands out is range. Night Shift moves from supernatural terror to social cruelty to deeply personal grief without losing momentum.

I liked how specific that lawn description is, with grass right up against the school foundation and no pretty buffer zone to soften anything.
